Rylan Smith

Rylan, a recent Washington University School of Law alum, joined our group in May 2021 as a law clerk. He works with our attorneys to conduct legal research and analysis, create legal papers, fill out immigration forms, and much more. Rylan will become an associate attorney in our civil rights and immigration practices after passing the bar.

Rylan is from the Western Coal Fields region of Kentucky. Since 2019, he has lived in St. Louis with his partner, Virginia (Jenna) Carrico, and their two cats. Rylan is passionate about democracy reform, foreign policy, and saving the planet for future generations. He enjoys hiking, visiting national parks, reading nonfiction, and working the polls.
